Remembrance

Today I saw you again, sitting there in the shade
I sat with you and we talked about this and that
You look good with long hair, you seem happy
I needed to know you are happy again

As I walked away from you, all the memories came back to me
as they have many a night while I laid by myself

I remembered our rides along the tracks
You laughed with all you heart when I fell
What I would give to hear your sweet laughter again

I remembered running thru the rain with you
Drying your hair afterwards and when I got sick you cared for me
What I would give to feel your loving touch again

I remembered taking you away, we talked all the way
You took a thousand pictures of our weekend in the sun
What I would give to take you away again

I remembered when love got tough, I fought for us
I fought for us but you still walked away
What I would give for another fighting chance

As you walked away today, I turned and walked away
